The Roostertales Bass Club had a great day at Saguaro on Saturday April 28 with ten boats fishing. It was a mixed bag of techniques that delivered fish –including dropshot, topwater in the morning, jerkbaits in the morning and when the wind kicked up in the afternoon, and shaky head. Fish were still on the beds. Although they were less cooperative when compared to early March, several of the top bags were anchored by bed fish. The grass bite was not as good as in earlier weeks. Other fish were caught on shelves, points, and rock. Fish were still generally shallow with water temperature around 70 degrees. The largest weights in the tourney were all between 10 and 11 pounds. Most teams weighed a limit. Our next tournament is at Roosevelt Lake on May 19. If you are interested in joining our club, meetings are on Monday at 7 pm before each Saturday tournament.
