Lake Pleasant

Saturday, November 11th, 2017

The Roostertales Bass Club held its final full day tournament of the year on Lake Pleasant on Saturday 11/11. Twelve boats fished. Only one limit was weighed. Somebody always figures it out. Grubbs and Hoffman weighed 10.87# with big fish of 3.84#. They caught their fish on flats in the morning when they were busting shad. Second place went to the team of Brunning and Tucker with 5.61# and third place was the team of Weir and Burgraff with 5.39#.

Roostetales is having their annual Christmas party at Apache Lake with a winner-take-all pot for a Saturday morning fun fish. We will be gearing up for a full slate of one day monthly tournaments in 2018.

Saguaro Lake

Monday, November 25, 2013

The Roostertales Bass Club had its last tournament of the year on Saguaro Lake on November 16. The day was windy and cloudy, and it laid down a bit in the afternoon. Water temperatures were around 76 degrees. It was generally a tough day for most. There were only 5 limits. The largest bags were 12.37#, 9.24#, and 8.3#. The three biggest largemouths were 5.01#, 4.44#, and 3.33#. Most of the fish were caught relatively shallow, although prefishing showed a deeper bite in the week preceding the tournament. Fish were caught on dropshot and some reaction bite tactics. A fair amount of the grass was still green and some of the fish were caught in grass. All in all, it was a very competitive 2013 season.

We are looking forward to an awesome 2014 season as our schedule has been set. If you have an interest in joining our club for one- day (Saturdays) tournaments in 2014 (one each month). See you on the water.

Lake Pleasant

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

The Roostertales Bass Club finished its 2012 season at a tough Lake Pleasant on Saturday November 10. With the fall’s first real cold front coming in on Friday before the tournament, air temperatures were over 20 degrees lower on Saturday compared to Thursday. Water temperatures were 68 degrees, but this was compromised by rising water from continuing CAP delivery. Eight teams fished; only one boat weighed a limit. The winning weight was 11.76# with a big fish of 3.53#. The winning bag was caught in 2 cuts with bays, and on a variety of techniques including jerk bait, topwater, and A-Rig. The second place team weighed 6.41# with 4 fish. Other fish during our tournament were caught on dropshot, particularly in the back of coves throughout the lake. The Roostertales Bass Club had another excellent season. The theme of our club is friendly competition, learning and sharing, and trying to win a little money. Our payback on entry fees is almost 100%.

We have set our lakes calendar for 2013. We will be fishing all Salt River lakes, Alamo, Havasu, Pleasant, Bartlett, and Willow Springs in the summer. We have decided on one-day tournaments, which makes for a user friendly situation.

And the Winner is:

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Congratulations to Redding and Griffith on another great finish and winning the 2011 Roostertales point series.

Lake Pleasant proved to to be a challenge and made or broke some teams’ seasons. Only one team came in with a bag to the scales. It was a beautiful day on the lake but someone forgot to tell the fish.

The day started with 1 team in a commanding lead in 1st place. 1 team with a 4 point lead in second place. 1 team with a 1 point lead in third place and 2 teams tied for fourth place.

The day ending with Redding and Griffith winning the 2011 season. 1 team coming from 4th place to take the second place spot and a tie for 3rd place that was decided by which team had caught the biggest fish during the year.

Thank you to all the teams that fished in the Roostertales Club this year for making it one of the closest seasons we have seen in awhile.

Our 2012 season will be starting up in January with the tournament dates being posted soon. We are looking forward to another great year with great people and great competitors.
