Saturday, October 19, 2019

Second place went to Jensen/Chubbuck with 3 fish @ 9.68 and third place to Weir/Frost with 3 fish @ 8.77. Good jobs guys!

Apache Lake

Sunday, October 27, 2013

The Roostertales Bass Club had its monthly one-day tourney on Apache Lake- Saturday October 19. It was a sunny day and the wind blew most of the day, then laid down near the end of our tourney which ended at 3 pm. Water temperatures were generally 66 to 68 degrees. There were 13 boats and 8 limits were weighed. The winning bag was 17.35 #, followed by 12.73# and then 12.67#. The winning bag was anchored by the tourney’s biggest fish at 5.02#. The second biggest fish was 4.10#. There were mostly largemouths weighed, but there were several nice smallies. Various patterns worked as the Fall fish were caught shallow to deep. The reaction bite was limited although jerkbait, topwater, and several crankbait fish were caught. Most of the fish were caught on dropshot, and most of the boats were challenged to find tournament-sized fish. Our next tournament is on Saguaro Lake- November 16. Our meeting is on the preceding Monday at BassPro Shops at 7 pm on November 11. Our schedule for next year has been issued. We look forward to a strong finish in 2013 as there were 10 teams still legitimately in the running for end of year overall top finish payouts.

Alamo Lake

Saturday, October 27, 2012

The Roostertales Bass Club fished Alamo Lake on Saturday 10/20. It was a beautiful day in the 90s. Water temperatures were around 75 degrees. Eight boats participated. The lake was at about 30 percent pool, and it fished relatively small. Fishing was challenging. Only 3 limits were weighed. Most fish caught were in the slot. There were two basic patterns- dropshot, especially on shallow to deep rock and reaction baits including cranks and jerk baits in shallow water. Some fish were caught on jigs. There were several reports from other fisherman that some morning fish were caught on buzzbaits and spooks. The winning bag was 5.56 pounds. Big fish was 2.10 pounds. Our next tournament is on Lake Pleasant on Saturday November 10. If you are interested in fishing with our Club, come to the meeting at Bass Pro Shop in their upstairs conference room on Monday November 5 at 7 pm.

Canyon Lake

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Well 1 more down with one to go at Lake Pleasant.

Canyon proved to be a very rough lake for everyone with only one team coming in with a limit. The next closest limit was 3 fish. The morning was very, very windy and made fishing tough, and the cool weather didn’t help much either. We all had a good time and picked up some new club members in the process which should make next year even better.

The points only got tighter with 4 teams going to second place.  Lake Pleasant will make or break our seasons, but it’s been a heck of a year so far.

See you at Pleasant!
