And the Winner is:

Saturday, November 19, 2011

Congratulations to Redding and Griffith on another great finish and winning the 2011 Roostertales point series.

Lake Pleasant proved to to be a challenge and made or broke some teams’ seasons. Only one team came in with a bag to the scales. It was a beautiful day on the lake but someone forgot to tell the fish.

The day started with 1 team in a commanding lead in 1st place. 1 team with a 4 point lead in second place. 1 team with a 1 point lead in third place and 2 teams tied for fourth place.

The day ending with Redding and Griffith winning the 2011 season. 1 team coming from 4th place to take the second place spot and a tie for 3rd place that was decided by which team had caught the biggest fish during the year.

Thank you to all the teams that fished in the Roostertales Club this year for making it one of the closest seasons we have seen in awhile.

Our 2012 season will be starting up in January with the tournament dates being posted soon. We are looking forward to another great year with great people and great competitors.

Canyon Lake

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

Well 1 more down with one to go at Lake Pleasant.

Canyon proved to be a very rough lake for everyone with only one team coming in with a limit. The next closest limit was 3 fish. The morning was very, very windy and made fishing tough, and the cool weather didn’t help much either. We all had a good time and picked up some new club members in the process which should make next year even better.

The points only got tighter with 4 teams going to second place.  Lake Pleasant will make or break our seasons, but it’s been a heck of a year so far.

See you at Pleasant!

Alamo Lake

Monday, September 26, 2011

Well the standings are getting tight and Alamo made it even tighter. First place is out of reach unless Redding and Griffith make a big mistake or we take the drain plug and props off their motors.  Second place on down, on the other hand, is up for grabs. Second to seventy is only 10 points apart. So, the next two tournaments will make or break everyone’s year.

Alamo was tough with the water level down and being a slot lake.  Finding a over was hard and when you did the fish just didn’t look healthy. I had a 16 inch fish that weighed in at 1.05 lbs. Either way, it was a good time but stay tuned as action is heating up.

Roosevelt Lake

Sunday, August 14, 2011

We fished from 4am to 1pm to avoid the heat that you see this time of the year.  The day started off with a lot of lightning and some rain. It cleared up about 10am and we had sun. The fishing was pretty good for some and so-so for others. The end of the years’ results are taking shape with most of the position still up for grabs.

We also voted on moving this years annual Christmas party from Apache Lake to Saguaro Lake with dinner and awards being in Mesa. More information coming soon.

Willow Springs

Sunday, July 24, 2011

Willow Springs proved to be a challenge on a lot of levels. First the fishing was pretty tough and the only thing that made the trip worth it was the weather and being on such a beautiful lake. Then the sky turned gray and it started to rain. The rain stopped for about 5 minutes and then it started again and boy did it come down. Slowed down again and we thought it was over until it started to downpour and then it turned to pea-sized hail. We all must have said screw it and started heading to the ramp at the same time, because when we got the boat turned around, all I saw was the whole club trying to get to the ramp as fast as possible.

Of course when we got to the ramp everyone in our club and all the others that were on the lake were trying to get off the water so the ramp was a mess.

All and all we all had a good time and it gave us something to remember it by.

Thank you to all of you that made the trip up to fish with us.

San Carlos Lake

Sunday, May 15, 2011

We fished at San Carlos lake this weekend May 14, 2011. The lake was down over where we seen it last year but still good size.  Fishing ending up being pretty tough with no one bringing 5 fish to the scales but we saw some really good size fish come in.

Marshall and Budinger won the tournament with 16.47 lbs supported by a 7 lbs and 5 lbs fish.  They said they got them mostly on jigs.

Second place was secured by Bothun and Smith with 1 fish weighing in at 7.96 lbs

Third places was won by Brooks and Williams with 3 fish weighing in at 7.47 lbs

Our next tournament is our open at Bartlett Lake.  Come out and fish with us on June 11th, 2011 from 6pm till 6am Sunday
